Mizzou Swimming: Meet the 2026 Recruiting Class | 5 Talented Athletes Join the Tigers (2025)

A New Wave of Talent is Headed to Mizzou Swimming!

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps proudly supports SwimSwam's College Recruiting Channel, celebrating the dedication of student-athletes. For many, collegiate swimming is the culmination of years of hard work. Fitter and Faster is thrilled to honor these athletes and their supporters.

Mizzou's swimming and diving program is making a splash by signing five outstanding student-athletes for the 2026-27 academic year. This impressive class includes three recruits ranked among the top 250 in the nation, according to Swimcloud's recruiting rankings.

Head Coach Andrew Grevers has announced the addition of several promising swimmers:

  • Tori Yamamura (Fly/IM): Ranked fifth in California.
  • Amelia Lee (Back/Fly): A top-four recruit from Kentucky.
  • Tess Stavropoulos (Free): Also a top-four recruit from Illinois.
  • Natálie Zápotocká (IM/Breast): A semifinalist at the European Junior Championships.
  • Joe Warnagiris (Back/IM/Breast): A top-10 recruit from Virginia.

Adding to the excitement, Oliver Millán de Miguel (Free) will join the Tigers' roster in January 2026. Hailing from Madrid, he is a champion in the 100 free and a member of Real Canoe Natación Club.

Amelia Lee

  • Events: Backstroke/Butterfly
  • Hometown: Nicholasville, Kentucky (West Jessamine HS)
  • Achievements: All-American and Winter Junior National qualifier in the 200 fly and 100 back. A four-year letter winner and Scholastic All-American, she led her high school team to state championship titles in the 200 free relay and 200 medley relay. Individually, she placed second in the 100 fly and third in the 100 back at the state competition.
  • Why Mizzou?: "I chose Mizzou because of the strong team culture and the excellent coaching staff! I felt that it was the perfect place to grow more as an athlete and a student!"

Tess Stavropoulos

  • Events: Freestyle
  • Hometown: Saint Charles, Ill. (Saint Charles North HS)
  • Achievements: 12-time NISCA All-American and Conference and Sectional Champion in the 100 and 200 free. A standout for the North Stars, Stavropoulos is a three-time All-State and All-Conference honoree. She competed at the Speedo Winter Junior Championships – West in the 50, 100, and 200 free races.
  • Why Mizzou?: "I chose Mizzou because I love the energy and vibe of the team, and it feels like the perfect place for me to grow as both a student and an athlete."

Joe Warnagiris

  • Events: Backstroke/IM/Breaststroke
  • Hometown: Winchester, Va. (James Wood HS)
  • Achievements: Holds the VHSL Class 4A record in the 100 breast. He led the Colonels with repeat State Championship titles in both the 100 breast and 200 IM. The three-time Winchester Star Boys’ Swimmer of the Year also holds four All-State and All-American honors.
  • Why Mizzou?: "The team culture was unlike any other school I had visited. It felt like a place I would enjoy spending the next four years as well as a place I could see myself making large improvements."

Tori Yamamura

  • Events: Butterfly/IM
  • Hometown: Valencia, Calif. (Valencia HS)
  • Achievements: Named the “Best of the Rest” butterflyer by Swim Swam Magazine. She won the 100 fly at the 2025 CIF Southern Section Division I Championships. She competes for Canyons Aquatic Club, winning the 100 fly at Speedo Sectionals – La Jolla and qualified for the Speedo Junior National Championships. Yamamura is a two-time NISCA All-America and Scholastic All-American honoree.
  • Why Mizzou?: "I chose Mizzou because I loved how close the team was and how much they genuinely enjoyed spending time with each other. I loved the coaches and felt very comfortable around them. I also loved the pool and campus, it’s so beautiful and welcoming."

Natálie Zápotocká

  • Events: IM/Breaststroke
  • Hometown: Prague, Czech Republic (OA Kubelíkova)
  • Achievements: A two-time qualifier for the European Junior Championships. Reached semifinals in the 200 breast and 200 IM in 2024 and the 200 breast in 2025. She also competed at the 2022 European Youth Olympic Festival and was named the Third-best Junior Swimmer of 2024.
  • Why Mizzou?: "I chose Mizzou because I really liked the atmosphere of the team and the coaching staff. Everyone is very supportive and motivated. The environment felt right for me."

What's Next for Mizzou Swimming and Diving?

Mark your calendars! The swimming and diving squads will compete in the Mizzou Invite from November 20-22. Preliminary events begin at 9:30 a.m., with finals starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. The meet will be streamed on SEC Network+, and admission is free and open to the public.
