A beloved member of the community has passed away, leaving a profound impact on those she held dear. Suzanne Killeen, a cherished wife, mother, and friend, has left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
Born as Suzanne Phelan, she was a resident of Moycarn, Portnick, and had strong ties to Ballinasloe, County Galway. She also had a connection to Rathbawn Drive in Castlebar. But it was on Thursday, November 20th, 2025, that Suzanne's journey came to a peaceful end, surrounded by the warmth of her family.
Her absence will be deeply felt by her adoring husband, John, and their beloved children, Hugh and Clodagh. The grief extends to her parents, Sean and Maura Phelan, and her siblings—Valerie, Helen, Ruth, Nessa, Deirdre, and Fintan—who will forever cherish her memory. The family's sorrow is shared by in-laws, including Tom Killeen, Carmel, Mary, Ruth, Padraig, Frankie, Manus, Ed, Dermot, and Brendan, as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbors, and friends.
And here's where we pause to reflect on her life... Suzanne's gentle soul will forever be remembered. Her final resting place will be prepared with care and respect.
On Saturday, November 22nd, from 5 to 7 p.m., Suzanne will be laid to rest in Grenham's Funeral Home in Ballinasloe. A private removal will take place on Sunday morning to St. Ronan's Church in Taughmaconnell, where a Requiem Mass will be held at 12:30 p.m., followed by a burial in the local cemetery.
